ShadowClan makes its home in a large patch of half-dead bushes and shrubs that sit upon a slightly raised mound out of the more watery parts of the marsh. While it looks perfectly uninhabitable to a human, ShadowClan cats are small and lithe and feel right at home among the prickly plants.
The nursery is the only truly separated part of the camp that could be considered a den - a whorl of grass and the greenest branches of the shrubs form a neat little hole big enough to house a small family of adults. The flowers that bloom there every year are pungent and block out the smell of kittens from the outside world.
The rest of the cats, with the exception of the seer, spread themselves out wherever they please. Different ranks tend to nest together, but there is no designated area for anyone to go to. The seer sleeps outside or just within the camp border in the summer. In the winter, an impressive catpile is made in the center of camp, with the seer in the eye and everyone else surrounding them, with the higher rankings being closer to the middle.
Don't hesitate to go ahead and post to get the rp started.

Lightningfoot blinked his eyes open, squinting at the sunlight for a moment before shoving his head under his front paws. The sun was too bright, make it go away... A few minutes later, though, there was no denying he was awake. He slowly stood up, arching his back ad stretching with a low grumble, pointedly keeping his eyes closed for the last few seconds. He could pretend he wasn't awake yet, but he was, and that meant going on a hunting patrol. He didn't like hunting when he was groggy, for what he assumed were obvious reasons, so he'd have to find a way to wake up pretty quick.
(hello @shadowclan how is everybody today~)

batstormBatstorm's eyes opened suddenly, two massive green orbs on a black background with slits down the middle. Wide and almost immediately alert, they wandered around the camp, processing the stillness, the lack of activity. Most everyone was still asleep, except for the deputy and a couple of other cats, and he was hardly interested in lingering where he slept. He stood up, yawned, arched his back in a stretch and curled his tail up for a moment before a sudden release. His form relaxed once again and he blinked before pushing through thickets to the more open section of camp. He slunk through the undergrowth and toward the deputy, deciding that he would much prefer getting to work on an assignment immediately than ease into the waking world by relaxing and taking in the view of... bushes. He approached the other tom quietly and mewed a greeting. "Lightningfoot," he spoke out, blinking as a gesture of restrained friendliness. "Ya up early. I guess it isn't that surprising for a deputy, but still, better than those cats still pretending to sleep."Batstorm paused before getting to the point. "Patrols. Gotta get to work, anything ya want me to do?"readysetdeath

Ivypaw woke up to sunlight coming in between the leaves of the bushes. She saw that her mentor, Dipperfur, hadn't woken up yet. She didn't know if she should disturb her by waking her up, though, since she didn't know if Dipperfur would be fine with it. Ivypaw had only been the seer's apprentice for a few days, and if she had been her apprentice for longer, she might have known. Ivypaw moved toward her and considered rousing her from her sleep, but felt too worried about what would result to do so. Instead, Ivypaw settled for nervously and somewhat quietly asking," Um... Dipperfur? Could you wake up?" She waited tensely, a bit worried if even just doing that was too much.

" Morning, Batstorm," Lightningfoot said, nodding in the other warrior's direction. " The ThunderClan border should be checked, but we should worry about food for the rest of the day first. You're welcome to lead a border patrol if you want, but I reckon it might be wise to go hunting," he finished, curling his tail around him as he spoke. His eyes scanned the rest of the mostly sleeping cats, including their leader. Well, they could deal with the rest of the patrols when they woke up. Lightningfoot had told them he'd be going hunting in the morning, after all. " I'm heading out near the ThunderClan border if you'd like to come along, and if all goes well we might be able to kill two birds with one stone." rks ,

batstormThe tom narrowed his eyes but nodded along with the deputy's words. Having just scored back Sunningrocks, ThunderClan was bound to be overcharged with confidence; he wouldn't put it past them to see if they could take more from both sides, especially knowing ShadowClan had recently lost a leader and a Seer. "As long as you're planning on heading out soon, I certainly wouldn't mind tagging along," he meowed, glancing toward the camp's exit. "I don't mind hunting, but I think my main priority is making sure those mangy flea-eaters stay on their side of the Thunderpath."He flicked an ear and sat down near Lightningfoot. A distance away, he heard movement and took note that the Seer's apprentice had awoken. "Seems others are waking up, so hopefully it won't be too long before we're off," he mumbled. While neither Dipperfur or Ivypaw were particular candidates for a border and hunting patrol, cats arousing tended to set off a chain reaction. readysetdeath

" Very true, I just want to make sure the Clan has food for the day. We'll do both at once, focus on hunting in the morning so we're set for lunch, check the border if we notice anything smells fishy. I doubt those -brains are up this early anyways," he finished. He didn't want to admit Batstorm was right, but the male had a point. He needed to be careful, but the Clan couldn't fight off the mangy forest-dwellers on empty stomachs. " If you want to head out now, I can give one of the senior warriors the list of patrols so we can get going. The more time we have the better," he added. He knew ThunderClan was getting cocky, and he knew the food pile was depleting. He wanted to DO something. his claws kneaded the ground without his notice, eyes darting around the slowly waking cats, turning the slight anxiety to restlessness. A common habit with him, one he was very bad at stopping.

batstormLightningfoot's response was fair enough; cocky as ThunderClan were, ShadowClan getting food was just as important as the possibility of a threat. Even so, Batstorm was itching for a battle. He wasn't going to get worked up over something so small, but to him, the border was a priority. Hunger, if anything, only made him more irritable and ready to claw some cat's ears off. His ears drew back slightly, but for now, he went along with the deputy's plans and nodded. "As long as the border is checked."He blinked at the deputy's restlessness, which he shared, but was doing a bit better of a job at keeping controlled for now. He could sit still, anyway, but he too was itching to do something. "That's your decision, but I wouldn't argue against heading out now. Every heartbeat spent waiting for them to wake up is a heartbeat wasted," he meowed, casting his gaze to the clumps of sleeping cats. He dug his claws into the ground as his long, thin tail curled over them. "Let me know when you're ready to head out."readysetdeath

"I'm glad you agree," he mewed tersely, tail swishing as he stood up, moving to rouse one of the senior warriors from their sleep. "I'll be back in a second." After giving the warrior clear orders about patrols for the morning, he turned back to the waiting Batstorm. "Let's go," he said simply, turning and padding towards the camp entrance without waiting for a reply. (Sorry for the lack of formatting, on phone-) rks

Twiteflower
Twiteflower's ear twitched as he listened to the toms exit the den. Once they were out, he lifted his head. There was no way he would ever admit that he had been awake nearly the whole night, which seemed to be an awful habit of his, especially for a cat with such a difficult time falling asleep as he. He really needed to stop keeping secrets and lying. And as an extension he hadn't had a good night's sleep in what seemed like days. The lynx pointed tom started to rise to his paws only for exhaustion to bite back at his legs at full force and send his crashing back down into his battered nest. It prompted a whine to rise out of his throat, though more of a pitiful one than a bratty one. After a few more attempts at standing he managed to drag him self out into the camp, only to quickly collapse once more.

batstormBatstorm watched in silence as Lightningfoot passed on the patrol plans to another Warrior. He was eager to get to work and rose to his paws before the deputy had returned, already bounding toward the camp's exit. "Lead the way," he hesitated after a moment, allowing the deputy to get ahead of him. In truth, he hated letting another cat have the reigns of their mini-patrol, but given that it was just the two of them it didn't matter much anyway. Before he began to trot along again, however, his head snapped back to the sound of clamor behind him. His eyes narrowed, but seeing as there were no unfamiliar scents in the air yet, remained relax. It was only Twiteflower, he realized after a moment. Batstorm was never the sympathetic type, but he at least understood the tom had been through a lot in his life and wasn't going to gawk. "Hold up, Lightningfoot," he meowed, fully turning around and taking a couple slow steps back towards the sleeping area. "You okay, Twiteflower?" he asked. readysetdeath, dino

TwiteflowerThe tall- in comparison to a normal ShadowClan cat- tom shakily rose to his paws and blinked down at Batstorm after a moment of squinting. It was like he had to focus in on the smaller tom. A weak smile appeared on his face. "Y-yes, I'm fine," he replied meekly. Of course, that was a lie. Any cat with two eyes and ears could tell that. His voice was soft, softer than usual, that is. It was seasoned with notes of exhaustion and raspiness and seemed to take his breath away even after such a short sentence. His body paralleled such exhaustion as well. His eyes were glossy and distant, glimmering with fatigue. The hardest thing not to notice was how he swayed a little standing in place. All the signs pointed to an obvious lack of sleep and an unusually bad one even for him, a cat known for being unable to take care of himself. It was almost pitiful how bad he was at lying. rks

A near silent, content, purring sound could be heard from underneath a small, low bush, brownish in color from the drought that plagued the clans. Hidden underneath the bush was a mottled dark figure, feathered tail resting gently over her long muzzle, covering it from view. The sounds of other cats, slowly waking up and starting their day reached the angular ears of that rested on top of the black smoke she-cat's head, causing her eyelids to slowly flutter open, revealing pale yellow irises and night-black slitted pupils that turned to slits as the light hit them. Letting out a small groan,
Letting out a small groan, Mothtail slowly crawled out from under the bush, revealing disheveled semi-long fur. She gave her coat a gentle shake, putting a few pieces in their usual place, and sat down to neaten the rest of her mottled fur. The sun warmed Mothtail as she ran her sandpaper-like tongue across her pelt. While part of her enjoyed the feeling of warmth, part of her couldn't help but hate it as the effects of the drought were prominent in most places. Mothtail's mind drifted to the thought of the small ponds that dotted the marshes as they slowly dried up. She knew that when the rain fell again, the ponds would slowly refill, but only the gods knew when that would be.
Sighing, Mothtail flickered her gaze across the camp and let it rest on her clanmates. Patrols would probably be set up soon, and Mothtail would be ready for them if she was chosen to go on one. But for now, she would take these ample minutes to herself, and the dark-colored she-cat moved her attention from her lightly colored chest to her snow-white paws as she ran them over her head.

With a flick of an ear, Dipperfur acknowledged the sounds of birds chirping and frogs croaking in the distance. The seer's sleep had been tormented by dreams of her inevitable end as well as the torment she'd receive if she were to get something wrong. Not appreciating such sights, the smoke tabby decided to just stay up and at least rest her eyes. Of course that alone didn't rejuvenate her energy in the least bit. She prayed that the gods would have mercy on her and let her sleep.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Dipperfur let out a small groan and fumbled around and eventually resting on her back. From that position, she looked up at the tabby apprentice who was hovering over her. "Seems the nightmares haven't got to you yet." She giggled, shutting her eyes. "Lucky little thing."
"I'm up. I want you to look around and tell me what you see. A seer must be absolutely of their surroundings. Even a bent stick could mean the end of the clans." She flipped over and pulled herself up, getting closer to the similar sized apprentice. "Even a cats dirt could entail great fortune." She whispered before walking past her and chuckling.

Ivypaw replied,"Alright." She looked around, stating her findings,"As you would expect of the camp, half dead bushes are near us, although I think the one to my left looks in particularly bad condition. The sun is shining which would have been pleasant, if not for the drought. There seems to be a beetle crawling close to you." Ivypaw considered these facts, and tried to think of if any of them had significance. She tentatively suggested,"Well... perhaps the beetle is a sign related to your nightmares? I'm not sure, though, sorry if that's completely off the mark."
