Deerpath purred at Dawnthroat's reaction and blinked slowly at Duskpath still purring lightly. She swiveled her hear around when she's herd Swiftclaw's call. She dippped her head to her clan mates polightly before trotting over to him. Her tail straight isn't the air with a slight curl at the end. "Ready when you are." мικαcнʋ,

| Thriftpaw | she/her | apprentice | 9 moons | WindClan Thrilled that her mentor was planning to take her regardless, Thriftpaw trotted along after the black and white molly, tail held high. Said tail dropped, however, when she saw Spiderpath approach Dawnthroat and Duskpath. As much as she liked her aunt, her father however was a different story. He never seemed to even acknowledge her or her littermates, much less give praises to any of them, ad their mother was the same. Her heart sank even further when Duskpath agreed on joining the patrol, though she tried not to let it show on her face. Despite her best efforts, Thriftpaw's whiskers did twitch with a frown when she saw her father's response to her presence and she turned to her aunt. "I'm glad you're coming. You can finally see me catch a rabbit!" The torbie molly waived her tail in mock excitement at the thought. Duskpath was the closest thing to a caring parental unit Thriftpaw had and she was happy to hunt with her, but she mostly was trying to get some sort of rile out of her father with the cheeky comment. loveymymavi, alchepalch, kiwistickers,

Smiling at Deerpath, Swiftclaw returned the gesture as she dipped her head to him. He looked around to see the other awake cats, and flicked his ear to acknowledge her as she trotted closer to him. Most of the cats seemed set on hunting, and Swiftclaw couldn't blame them. The drought was hitting everyone hard, and food became more scarce by the day. And what prey they did manage to find was weak, malnourished because of the lack of water. For a moment, Swiftclaw thought, the world seeming to become still around him. Would the other clans, if desperate enough, trespass and try to hunt Windclan prey? It was possible, and the gray and white tom could almost imagine the Riverclan warriors' usually plump, skinny form crawling out of the water and ampushing their patrol. " I'm ready," he mewed after a few moments, giving Deerpath an apologetic look for keeping her waiting as he contemplated future situations. Riverclan wouldn't come after them. And if they did, Swiftclaw would make sure to not show them any mercy, " We're not on the hunting patrol, but if you see any prey, I want you to go for it. We need all the food we can get." And with that, Swiftclaw padded to the camp's exit, his grey tail, the only part of his body did not have any white markings, him in the air. He stopped when he reached the exit, and looked behind him to see if Deerpath was following. Once he was sure she was, he glanced at the exit of the camp before turning back to her. " Times are desperate, so watch out for trespassers. If you see anything suspicious, report to me immediately and we can investigate together." He instructed before heading out of the camp. Deerpath as an experienced warrior, Swiftclaw knew this well, but because of his trust issues, he wanted to make sure that everything was clear. purerubydragon

Duskpath's ear twitched, hearing the voice of her niece. She had been so focused on her brother that she hadn't noticed the apprentice. Without thinking, she started purring loudly. "I can't wait to see your hunting skills." She cooed. Thriftpaw wasn't a kit anymore, but Duskpath couldn't help but treat her as so. When Dawnthroat's kits had been born, the she cat had been overly excited, more than her brother. She had immediately loved the kittens and wished they were hers. "I'm sure Dawnthroat is excited too," She added, throwing her brother a look. snootsandwhiskers and alchepalch

Dawnthroat squinted. She just had to throw him into the situation, didn't she? He let out a hefty sigh and looked down at the smaller ticked tabby with annoyed amber eyes. He scanned her, knowing that it would probably make the apprentice uncomfortable but oh wells.
It was weird to think of her and her siblings as family. When he saw her, the only thing he could think of was regret. Dawnthroat wished he had just sticked to his life as a dedicated warrior who cared for his sister dearly. He never wanted kits. He just wanted to be the image of a great WindClan warrior. It was a bit too late for that though.
The tom twitched his whiskers. "Anyone can catch a rabbit..." He grumbled, squinting harder. "Talk to me when you catch five of them...Out in this heat too." With that, the feline got up and stood next to Spiderpath. He was ready to head out. loveymymavi, snootsandwhiskers, kiwistickers,

Mossstar watched her warriors sort themselves out into patrols, feeling a slight twinge of guilt that she wasn't on any of them. When she was sure that everyone was doing all right and not in any danger of fighting amongst themselves, she out of camp. Her paws carried her swiftly along the ground. She had her own patrol to attend to.

Ooc: Mobile sorry for late response and no formatting ))
Spiderpath purrs in amusement. "I would love to see anyone do that," She says, then cranes her head towards Thriftpaw. "But I wouldn't undervalue the worth of just one rabbit. Even the smallest morsel can make a difference. In these conditions I'd be impressed if we catch much of anything." Spiderpath glances at Mossstar for a moment, distracted. Was she headed out alone? If that's what the leader wanted, she supposed she didn't have the right to interject.
Lowly, but with no particular effort to avoid being heard, the molly shifts back towards Dawnthroat and speaks to him. "I hope you aren't being serious. If If you want to complain about my apprentice's skill level make sure it's something you can actually do yourself." She challenges in a playful, but somewhat tense tone. Spiderpath didn't appreciate the tom's unecessary attitude. Besides, getting under his fur a little might make him do better hunting.
Spiderpath springs up suddenly to cut off anything he might have said. She speaks louder and faster than before. "Well!" She chirps, "There I go yammering on again. I don't know about you, but there's a hare I just missed by a -length the other day, and that's not going to happen again!"Spiderpath takes off out the entrance.
"Meet me around the top of the moors!" She shouts over her shoulder.

| Thriftpaw | she/her | apprentice | 9 moons | WindClan
Thriftpaw curled her lip and scrunched her nose up, making a face at Dawnthroat when his back was turned. She never understood why the cream tom didn't like her, but she was sure she didn't help matters by picking at him whenever she had to be around him. The apprentice did not like his sour attitude at all, but instead of letting it affect her most days, she let it bounce right back to him in the form of over exuberant hypotheticals and optimism. Her siblings went out of their way to avoid their parents, but Thriftpaw went about her day as usual and, hey, if she had to see and interact with the grumpy tom, his day would be just as bad as he made hers. When Thriftpaw heard Spiderpath's praise combined with the lowly spoken reprimand to her father, she chirped and her tail flicked back and forth smugly. Maybe this patrol wouldn't be so bad after all. She stood when the black-and-white warrior shot out of camp with little warning and cut her eyes at Duskpath. "C'mon, then!" She took off after her mentor, her tail tip whipping Dawnthroat across the shoulder as she sprinted to the moor. loveymymavi, alchepalch, kiwistickers,

Duskpath watched the interaction between Thriftpaw, Spiderpath, and Dawnthroat. Her ears were slightly back, mostly because she was instantly uncomfortable. The tense tones and snarky remarks worried her. She knew her brother's attitude was an issue to some, but she never said anything about it. Instead, she comforted him. "Oh Dawnthroat..." She purred. Walking towards him and pressing against him gently, she mewed a soft "I'm sorry." The molly felt guilty for letting the cats get snappy at each other. She would comfort him now and make sure the others were alright later. Duskpath flicked her tail towards the entrance. "Let's go please."

Dawnthroat let out a threatening growl towards Spiderpath then sent a threatening gaze down towards his daughter as she whipped his tail against his shoulder. "You little--" He began in a harsh tone but was interrupted by his sisters words. He snorted and simply continued forward with his sibling, a story forming in his head, pretty much calming him down.
"I can catch five rabbits." He challenged. "Once in my youth- Well it was a cold leaf bare day and our clan was just starving and I--" He continued to ramble on about his adventure. Telling stories always made him feel better.
