rks ariento Shellthroat's little pink tongue was visibly darting in andout of his mouth as his panted, heaving himself forward as if he weighed twice as much as he did. Although he felt lighter. He as been fasting for three sun rises praying to Starclan to bring back the water, trying to see if his Sacrifice would appease his warrior ancestors. He was not shallow of heart though, and with a shallow breath he drolled on about the time there was more fish in the river than water, and how the leopard god had blessed Riverclan alone for staying within their boarders while the rest of the clans had ventured out to find food. “You...see...” he panted, though his voice as cheery and still cracked with humor. “We were....rewarded...for....our loyalty......and they feasted....and feasted....” his next words were 'for days' but they never came as he made it to the top of the hillside and slumped over. Stretching his back he yawned, his mouth stretching as wide as mothers'. So much from the tired, but from the thin air. Riverclan territory was closest to the ground, so he was unused to the thinner air no matter how many times he came to visit the moonstone. Sitting down he curled his tail over his paws and half purred, half gurgled looking at the mother mouth as if he were looking at his home. He blinked slowly at it. Then turned to his apprentice, “Are you coming? You're moving slower than a salmon in a spring.” Of course Lightingpaw was only just a whisker behind Shellthroat but the old cat was known for nagging and nit picking, especially his own apprentice. But he still purred at him, happy to share the vision of the mouther before them with his closest clan mate.

Lightningpaw purred back. He had particularly liked the story, and he always enjoyed the time he spent with his mentor. "I'm coming, you old fool!" he replied playfully. As he over to sit beside Shellthroat, he glanced behind to see if any of the other seers were on their ways. "Do you think we should wait for the others?" His pelt was burning under the hot sun, and with no shade anywhere he didn't want to wait too long, but he didn't want to seem rude either. purerubydragon ,

rooknoseRooknose's ascent to Mothermouth was slowed by her own distress. Her thoughts raced far faster than her climb to the location of the Seer meeting, and she had a worried, frantic look about her. Her apprentice, Smokepaw, wasn't with her, for he'd collapsed from dehydration earlier in the day. What did that mean? Perhaps it was just coincidence that the Seer apprentice was made incapable of going to the Seer meeting, or perhaps it spelled disaster for WindClan. The molly finally made it to the gaping cave entrance, finding Shellthroat and his apprentice Lightningpaw already there. Shellthroat seemed to be in even worse of a condition than herself, and almost immediately Rooknose's throat vibrated in a low purr-- one of greeting but also worry. She raised her tail in greeting as well and sat before the two cats. She eyed Shellthroat uneasily. While WindClan's Seer was selectively mute, she was willing to speak among the other Seers, but only if necessary. And so rather than verbally inquiring, she tilted her head slightly to ask if the tom was okay. purerubydragon, ariento[sorry it's a bad post i had one written last night and then accidentally deleted it so i just half-assed this one to get something down]

Dipperfur's yellow eyes were trained on the entrance of Mothermouth. The heat beat down on the seer's pelt, yet her face showed no sign of discomfort. She was alone, her apprentice still at camp watching over their clanmates. The molly didn't mind though. She trotted through the forest in silence, giving herself a chance to think and prepare herself for the meeting. As she got closer to the cave, she stopped suddenly. Her face showed no emotion, yet inside she was nervous. She had always been a bit anxious when she went to the meetings, even as an apprentice. The entire ordeal almost felt surreal. Shutting her eyes quickly, she let out a deep sigh and in briskly, keeping her head up high. Giving the other felines a polite nod, she took a seat next to Rooknose and stared at the wall with a collected gaze, waiting to begin. rks, ariento, and purerubydragon

Lightningpaw glanced around at the gathered cats, noticing that neither Rooknose nor Dipperfur had brought their apprentices, and that Rooknose looked rather upset. "Your apprentices aren't here?" he asked the two mollies. He knew the drought was hitting all the Clans hard, and he wondered if their apprentices were need back at camp. Or, worse... Lightningpaw couldn't bring himself to finish the thought. purerubydragon , rks , loveymymavi ,

Dipperfur's ear twitched at the sound of Lightingpaw's voice in the hollow cave. She shook her head lightly, not taking her eyes off the smooth wall. "No, unfortunately Shadowclan doesn't have a seer's apprentice yet." She replied softly. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she was somewhat upset that she didn't have anyone to mentor. Not only because it was important, but mostly because she had always thought of training an apprentice to be exciting. She would sometimes watch warriors mentor the younger felines and feel a pang of envy. Finally turning to the tom, Dipperfur gave a polite smile. "I shall hope we get one soon though." ariento and rks (I didn't realize Shadowclan didn't have a seer apprentice anymore. Going to pretend I didn't mention one in my last post, but still answer your question. I'm soorryy)

Shellthroat pricked his ears forward. " Ah! Rooknose good to see you." he boasted, but his voiced cracked with irritation. And irritation that had come from not eating, and certainly not getting enough water. There was a low purr in his throat however. It sounded like the growling of a drowning animal, or a badger's soft barking to her kits. He pricked his ears at Rooknose. He'd known the other seer a long time now and thought himself quite skilled at communicating with her. Shellthroat followed Rooknose's gaze and looked down at his own chest, lifting one of his paws up to get a better look as if he couldn't tell what Rooknose was looking at. " Hmm, wa-?" He faked, as if looking for a burr or moss ball his friend was inquiring about on his pelt. Setting his paws back down he croaked a grateful 'mrrow' and blinked slowly at the Windclan seer, grateful for his compassion. "Ah! Apprentices these days! I swear Mistpaw purposely gets me the smallest fish in the batch! You pull a thorn out to0 hard one time and they treat you like a one legged badger." He nudged Lightingpaw as if his clan-mate would know just what he was talking about. It was clearly an over exaggeration trying to make light of a very serious situation. He blinked again at Rooknose to assure him she was fine....or fine enough to make jokes. Shellthroat had always put Riverclan first, but took the bond he shared with the other seers very intimately. He learned a long time ago that if you couldn't learn from others, you'll always be a fool. Shellthroat then turned to Dipperfur, who had approached and spoken with Lightenpaw already. He waved his tail in greeting before politely interjecting. "OH pity! I thought you were saying last time that Bluepaw...or maybe it was Silverpaw." He looked up for a moment as if he were thinking it over carefully, then rubbed a paw across his face as if washing away the irrelevant thought. "Maybe they were showing promise.... Ah don't worry about it Dipperfur." He took the same paw and took a slow fake swipe at the Shadowclan seer. "You'll find some cat. That or Starclan will send you one." He rested his paw back on the ground. There was a small pause, Shellthroat had a small cough that quickly became a small hacking session as if he had a fur ball. After a moment of coughing he panted. Feeling too tired to facade how tired and weary his really was. The veil wasn't pulled away for long, as he cleared his throat and sat up after a moment or two. "Well....Shall we get out of this sun while we wait for Thunderclan? I swear it's Horoa himself burning down on me for dragging my paws."

rooknoseRooknose blinked at Shellthroat, only chuckling a little at the tom's joking, and then turned to his apprentice. The molly's look of worry grew for a moment and she sighed. Clearing her throat, she murmured, "Smokepaw collapsed earlier. Dehydration. Couldn't come." Her voice was low, scratchy and raspy, clearly unused to being used. She blinked at Shellthroat again as the tom asked whether or not they should wait for ThunderClan. Her expression was a puzzled one; ThunderClan didn't have a Seer. She merely shrugged and then padded inside the gaping jaws of Mothermouth, hoping to see if StarClan would tell anything about her apprentice's collapse earlier. purerubydragon, ariento, loveymymavi

Lightningpaw's eyes went wide upon hearing of Smokepaw's collapse. That was surely a sign from StarClan! What it meant, he didn't know, but he prayed for Smokepaw's health. Lightningpaw wasted no time following Rooknose into the tunnel. His thick fur did him no favors in this heat. Once in the cool darkness of the tunnel, he turned around called to Shellthroat, "I don't think ThunderClan will be coming. The kit who would've been Hazelleaf's apprentice - I don't think she's old enough to travel all the way here by herself." He considered asking if they should go see how she's doing, but Shellthroat was having enough trouble getting to Mothermouth, and he didn't want to overexert his mentor. purerubydragon , rks , loveymymavi ,

Dipperfur listened to the other felines talk silently. She raised her eyebrows questioningly when Shellthroat mentioned Thunderclan's seer, but ignored it and blamed the heat getting to the Riverclanner. She trotted into the cave after Rooknose, wanting to get back to her clan. Trailing alongside the wall, the molly briskly. It was dark but moonstone lit the way through the cool tunnel. Not hesitating, the seer got very close to the moonstone. She didn't touch it yet, like she was afraid to do something wrong, despite her doing it a million times. "I pray we get good news." She muttered. It was loud enough to hear, but you could hear in her voice it was aimed at herself. Touching the glowing rock softly, she laid down and shut her eyes. purerubydragon, ariento and rks

Shellthroat glanced at Lightingpaw, his eyes wide as if he had just seen a member of Starclan descend upon them. He softened them when he realized he'd forgotten himself. Looking at his own feet Shellthroat seemed more tired then he had the whole journey. It had only been about a moon.....and shorter still since he had known. It wasn't like one of his own clan mates where it was impossible to imagine life without them, but Hazel-leaf's death had simply escaped him. He let out a long sigh, a quirky but well placed retort about Hazel-leafs memory and how she would be missed at the tip of his tounge. But he was to exsaused to let it out. Instead just another sigh hissed out of his lungs. Shellthroat took a forepaw and rubbed it over his face gruffly as if an itch had just caught him off guard. He pricked his whiskers, smacking his lips together. "Well, we'd best get on with it then." Gettting to his feet shakily, he brushed past Lightingpaw's pelt, as if comforting the apprentice but more likly he was comforting himself. And strode past Rooknose touching his tail to the other seer's gently instructing them to follow. Shellthroat confidently padded into the mothers mouth, a little more sure footed the closer he got. loveymymavi, rks, ariento,

Lightningpaw passed Shellthroat and joined Dipperfur beside the Moonstone. He touched his nose to it and, already exhausted from hunger, dehydration, and the climb up the Mothermouth, quickly fell asleep. Lightningpaw was standing at what had once been the riverbank across from Sunningrocks, now bone-dry. The night sky was completely clear, the stars and Suriin's eye shining brightly down. Thirsty, he padded down to what was left of the river, so he could have a drink. But as he got closer, the stench of carrion filled the air. When he got down to the water, he saw the source. Hazelleaf - well, what was left of her - lying in the middle of the stream. A chorus of wails rose up from ThunderClan's territory. Was it sorrow? Fear? Lightningpaw couldn't tell. The RiverClan apprentice jumped up, startled by his dream. purerubydragon, rks, loveymymavi,

Dipperfur stood amid the Shadowclan's camp. Cats surrounded her, their faces the pure image of glee and relief. She smiled along, her clanmates' radiating grins being contagious. Yet something still felt off. The seer began to walk through her home, her gaze trying to pinpoint the needle in the haystack. Her eyes finally fell on the silhouette of a cat, standing just outside the camp entrance. They were clawing wildly at the air, as if an unseen barrier kept them from joining the rejoicing felines. The closer the molly got to the shadow, the colder the air felt. She got closer and closer until the temperature felt freezing, and she shivered softly. Inches away, she finally saw the face of the shadow. It was herself, yowling as if in pain. They made eye contact before the outline disappeared, into a bundle of leaves. Dipperfur lifted her head slowly, the chill from her dream still lingering under her skin. She didn't know how to feel about the vision. It told of good times for her clan, but whatever it was did not include her. The seer frowned. Why would she be left out? What had she done wrong? The she cat began to rack her brain for her wrongdoings while the other seers slept. purerubydragon, ariento, and rks
