The toms head had began to slump over every so often as Briarnose sat at the entrance of camp. It took him a moment to realize he had been dozing off. When he did realize, he jumped up and beamed at any cat who was watching with embarrassment.
Feeling uncomfortable in the heat of his own embarrassment, the tom made his way back outside camp(waving his tail at Wrenface мικαcнʋ ) and simply curled up in his nest. Slumber had grasped him rather quickly.

As Wrenface groomed her coat, she glanced up for a moment when she saw Briarnose slumping over at the entrance of the camp. The mottled brown she-cat didn't stop grooming her coat, but she did watch the deputy with interest and hidden amusement. This was probably one of the first times that Wrenface had felt amused during her time with Thunderclan.
As the obviously embarrassed tom waved to Wrenface as he headed towards his nest, Wrenface stopped her grooming for a moment and simply dipped her head to him. Once she was sure that the deputy couldn't see her, Wrenface felt a small smile form on her usually still lips, and her pale eyes lit up with amusement and delight. A thought crossed her mind as she smiled, and for a moment, Wrenface wondered if her laughing at Briarnose's expense was a little cynical and sadistic on her part, and her smile disappeared as quickly as it came. Lowering her head, Wrenface continued to groom herself, this time focusing on the scars on her lower haunches.

Sparrowpaw awoke with a start, the excitement of the day already buzzing in his paws. He sat up and began to give his ruffled fur a few smoothing licks before stretching, not caring if he woke up the other apprentices, and leaving the den. The young tom loved the feeling of grass on his paws. He greeted his clanmates with an excited switch of his tail as he made his way to the warriors den. Poking his head into the den his mentor slept in, he called "Hey Adderfur! Adderfur wake up! It's sunup, sleepyhead!"

Adderfur's eyes shot open almost immediately as a young, shrill voice called his name from just inside the Warrior's den. He quickly stumbled to his paws, struggling to process all Sparrowpaw had said to him. Sunrise? Already? Fox-dung! The tabby usually woke up before dawn, he almost never slept this late, and he cursed himself for doing so.
Quickly making his way out of the den, drawing his Apprentice back out with him, the Warrior blinked sleep from his eyes, which were squinted to shield them from the blinding rays of Horoa. He was quickly reminded one of the reasons he often woke so early. "Thank you, Sparrowpaw." He blinked at his Apprentice after clearing his throat, gratitude flashing in his eyes for a brief moment before he quickly gave himself a grooming. "Today we'll just be focusing on hunting, we'll go to the Sandy Hollow first and then head out into the territory, we can eat when we get back." The tom knew food was scarce at the moment, as the unbearable heat either killed most prey or forced them into hiding, so he figured he'd be killing two birds with one stone by taking Sparrowpaw hunting, as the tom would be learning while Adderfur could bring back some prey for the Clan as well. He felt a a small pang of guilt by suggesting they would eat when they got back, Sparrowpaw was only young and maybe it would be better if he ate something quickly before leaving. However, he knew that even though he was young, Sparrowpaw was a cat eager to prove himself, and he might've even refused prey if Adderfur had offered it. He's tough, I'm sure he'll be okay. Mother always said, cats hunt better on an empty stomach.
After finishing his grooming rather quickly, he stood and began to lead the Apprentice out of the Camp, passing the quiet Wrenface on his way. He shot the Warrior a smile, waving his tail in greeting, before proceeding onward to the exit, glancing quickly behind him to make sure Sparrowpaw was with him. 'Ready?' His gaze seemed to say, and he paused for a quick second to veiw the young tom's reaction. dappletail , мικαcнʋ ,

Though one of Adderfur's strides was the length of at last two of his, Sparrowpaw raced alongside his mentor. He couldn't hold back his excitement. He was going to learn to hunt! He kept close to the large tabby beside him as they trotted to the gorse tunnel leading out of camp, his tail swishing in the air. "I'm ready. Lets go! I'm going to be the best hunter this clan has ever seen!"

Wrenface glanced up when she heard a loud voice near the Warrior's den. As usually, the voice belonged to an apprentice, and Mothtail simply continued to groom her fur. She wasn't sure if she wanted an apprentice. It wasn't the amount of work they came with, she was sure she could teach a future warrior some valuable skills due to her past, but Wrenface wasn't sure if she would enjoy the constant socializing. That being said, she was sure that if she did gain an apprentice, she would be grateful.
Now, Wrenface groomed her coat much more slowly before she stopped completely. Her long coat was now clean and well-kept, and she was now thinking about having an apprentice. Would I even be a good mentor? I've never really connected with younger cats, but that's probably because there were none in my old group. I wonder what an apprentice would think if I was their mentor... They would probably want a more exciting warrior for the job.
While she didn't smile at him, Wrenface did wave her tail in greeting as Adderfur passed her. Maybe she could talk to him after and ask him about what having an apprentice was like, just so she could prepare for the day where she would inevitably have one. Not to mention that if would be good for her to get to know her new clan better. Sighing, Wrenface lay down on her side in the cool sand as she continued to stay in the shade.

Boulderpath simply nodded at the leader, flicking his tail and managing to give a small smile at the party as they wandered off. He didn't really mind, but he couldn't deny the sinking sense of slight disappointment and longing in his stomach. It was rather familiar to him now, but again...he didn't mind, not too much anyway. He'd be alone with his thought, save for Briarnose, and Wrenface...ok, so maybe not so alone after all. With a light sigh, he turned back towards the camp, eyes searching for some shade. There wasn't that much left...except for a patch rather near Wrenface. He couldn't help but let his eyes drift over to the nursery, ears straining in attempt to pick up the sound of tiny breathing. Most of the kits must still be asleep. Maybe he shouldn't spend so much time thinking about kits, but, well, what else was there to think about? Fish were only so interesting. He padded over to some of the shade, settling down with his eyes towards the nursery and apprentice dens. Now that Kestrelpaw had come out, he wondered, who would be next...?

The camp seemed to stir a little as Bouoderpath sat near Wrenface in the shade, but the looming quiet reappeared once again. Wrenface studied Boulderpath for a moment, silently wondering why he didn't go on the patrol with Fallowstar, Teaselheart and Kestrelpaw. Perhaps it was because Fallowstar wanted to keep the patrol small so he could focus more on Kestrelpaw, but this was a simple guess on Wrenface's part. She didn't have an apprentice, and probably wouldn't for a while. There were other warriors, warriors who were much more qualified to train the second generation than she. Killing was the only thing she had to teach. The she-cat's claws unsheathed for a moment, her dull, grey-green eyes full of inner pain and anger, and she shuffled uncomfortably, as if she could feel the crimson blood of another flowing through her paws. A gentle breeze drew Wrenface back into reality, perking her sensitive ears at the sound of the dry branches rustling in the wind. Breezes such as that one had been uncommon since the drought started, and Wrenface couldn't help but relax slightly, though her greyish eyes became guarded once again. The she-cat took in a deep breath as she sheathed her long, sharp claws, the daily reminder of her taking a life disappearing for a moment. And so Wrenface sat there, enjoying the breeze, savouring it, before it left as quickly as it had arrived. Letting out a sigh as the wind died down, leaving the air dry and scorching, Wrenface turned to Boulderpath. She needed to take her mind off her past, and while it wasn't a permanent solution, it would do for now. " How are you Boulderpath?" She asked, her calm, alluring, yet secretive and aloof, voice making the question sound like a forced requirement and not a genuine question. readysetdeath

Deerkit let out a loud yawn as she sat up, stretching her neck high. Her mother was still asleep next to her, and Snailkit looked like he was going to wake up any moment. She blinked twice before prodding him with one paw. "Snailkit! Wake up!! We have to see if Fallowstar is awake yet," she mewed. "I want to become an apprentice today! Before the Seer Meeting..." She trailed off for a minute, once again wondering about her future- with Hazelleaf dead, how would she become a true Seer?

Holding his head up high, Fallowstar entered the camp. The patrol had been easy, the heat being the hardest thing. He glanced around at the cats in the clearing and immediately wondered what he should do next. "Oh!" He blurted out, suddenly remembering. "The kits." Snailkit and Deerkit were to be apprenticed today, yet the leader was hesitant to do so. He had already decided who Snailkit's mentor would be, but Deerkit would be without one. His chest ached for a moment thinking of the seer. Stifling a deep sigh, the tom slowly to the high tree stump and jumped atop of it. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather around." Fallowstar shouted. He sat down, waiting for the clan's attention. alchepalch, мικαcнʋ, dappletail, fiery, readysetdeath, hinabirdie, and Sherlock

Teaselheart padded behind Fallowstar with the single scrawny in his mouth. His body was held low yet he was still in a good mood. Getting to hunt often made him feel better, even if it felt as Horoa was staring straight into his soul the whole time. Chill out buddy... He thought, looking up slightly.
When Fallowstar announced for a meeting, he tilted his head with curiosity. Then he remembered the two kittens who were a little bit past 6 moons. Snailkit and Deerkit? He specifically remembered the two mollies who were the parents of the kits. He didn't know how to feel about that so he just shifted his thoughts.
Deerkit had spent a lot of time with Hazelleaf. Every cat knew that she would be the next seer but how. With the old she cat dead, there wasn't much hope for ThunderClan, was there.
Sighing, the stocky tom sat down in the middle of camp and waited for Fallowstar to get on with the announcement.
Briarnose twitched his ear when the familiar sound of Fallowstar echoed throughout camp. He let out an irritated sound and stood up. At this point, he had given up on sleep and figured he should just get on with business.
The tabby tom trotted quickly towards Fallowsar's side and stared at the clearing with strict amber eyes. He cast a side ward glance at the leader. "Finally making those kits apprentices I see." He commented. loveymymavi,

Wrenface perked her long ears up at Fallowstar's booming call, and she glanced at Boulderpath, shrugged, and stood up. The camp was lively now, full of energy and excitement. There was only one reason for this newfound excitement, those kits would probably be apprenticed now. Wrenface wasn't sure who would mentor them, but she was confident that one of those mentor's wouldn't be her. She was still practically an outsider, at least in her eyes. Wrenface bent down down as she stretched, opening her mouth in a yawn before continuing to where the gathered cats were. Wrenface took her spot on the outskirts of the gathered cats, not wanting to intrude on the exciting moment for the kits. She was unaware of Deerkit's dream to become a seer, and simply shook her head at the thought of the kits being excited to become warriors, or begin their journey to become warriors anyways. Look at them, They're excited to become warriors? I wonder if they'll continue to have this excitement when the blood of another soaks their paws. Snorting, Wrenface tried to push those thoughts out of her head and focus with the announcement. readysetdeath, loveymymavi
Kestrelpaw padded into the camp alongside Fallowstar and Teaselheart, her mouth hanging open loosely as she panted heavily. While it had been short, the border patrol had been unenjoyable once the trio headed back to camp. She had grown since she had first become an apprentice, but was still small compared to the Thunderclan toms, who were notorious for their large size and strength. Kestrelpaw wasn't sure how loathe she would get as an adult, but she dreamed that she would be big and strong. A terrifying she-cats ready to punish those who intruded on her territory! Kestrelpaw had been so focused on her daydream that she didn't even notice that Fallowstar had separated himself from the patrol until his booming voice echoed throughout the camp. An announcement? What of? It suddenly struck Kestrelpaw that there were kits in the nursery, ready to get apprenticed and begin their journey as a warrior. Kestrelpaw couldn't help but feel excitement course through her. She remembered becoming an apprentice, it had been an exciting time for her, not to mention that she would be getting new denmates! Kestrelpaw darted over besides Teaselheart, and plopped her butt down next to the broad tom. Eagerness lit up her hazel eyes, and she couldn't wait to see Snailkit and Deerkit as they became - paws.

Fallowstar looked down at Briarnose and nodded. "It's about time, old sport." He whispered respectfully. He looked at the felines staring back up at him and stood up. "Two kittens are about old enough to become apprentices." He looked over towards the nursery. Deerkit was awake, and he gave a warm smile to the soon to be apprentice. "Deerkit and Snailkit, please step forward." He waited for the two tabbies to make their way towards the clearing. He held a welcoming gaze. alchepalch , мικαcнʋ , dappletail , fiery , readysetdeath , hinabirdie , loveymymavi , Sherlock

As Fallowstar officially announced that Deerkit and Snailkit were ready to become apprentices, Kestrelpaw almost jumped to her feet and yowled with excitement. And while she didn't do this, the excitement was clear in her hazel eyes, and she was practically shaking in her paws. Finally! I can't wait to show them around... wait, won't this mean that I'm the 'senior' apprentice?
A smile grew on Kestrelpaw's face, she couldn't wait to show them where they could make their new nests (right next to hers of course!), and she couldn't wait to hunt and train with them... the possibilities with her new denmates were endless!
As Fallowstar continued with the announcement, Kestrelpaw did her best to calm herself down and kept quiet, though a smile was still quite visible on her face. She looked at Deerkit and Snailkit excitedly, wishing for the announcement to be over so she could help them with their nests and talk to two cats that were her age.

Snailkit batted sleepily at Deerkit's nose as she nudged him, then scrambled to his paws as he registered her words. "Sorry," he yelped, shaking out his fur. He gave himself a few licks to smooth down the mess, then trotted out, head held high, after making sure Deerkit was right behind him. Their mothers were likely already in the clearing, ready for the ceremony. He'd have to make sure not to walk right by them; they'd want to make him a bit more presentable, and getting groomed in front of the whole Clan was not how Snailkit wanted to start his apprenticeship. hinabirdie,
